Install Realsee VR and sign in before arriving on site.

02
Hardware

Assemble Your Device

Install the hardware correctly and secure the quick release.

03
Connection

Power On & Connect

Connect your phone and device successfully before scanning.

04

Edit Your Space

Complete essential edits and optimize the VR experience.

07
Deliver

Share VR Tour

Deliver polished spaces and confidently share final results.

Before your first capture

Set up your device and scan environment before arriving on site to help capture points align smoothly, generate accurately, and require fewer corrections later.

Before capturing, make sure the Realsee VR App is installed and signed in on your mobile device.

Package & assembly

Confirm all accessories are included. Pay special attention to the quick release, which is easy to miss during installation.

Battery charged
Quick release securely connects Galois to the tripod
Tripod stabilized 1.3–1.5m height
Lens and LiDAR covers removed

Site preparation

Prepare the space for accurate capture by opening doors, turning on lights, clearing pathways, and planning a continuous scan route.

Lights and curtains opened
Interior doors opened for continuous scanning
Capture path cleared
Plan the scanning route to avoid missed areas

Capture rules

Use consistent point spacing and a clear clockwise or counterclockwise path so each scan has enough overlap for reliable alignment.

Recommended spacing: 3–8m
Beginner / complex spaces: 2–3m
Follow a clockwise or counterclockwise path
Understand where to stand during camera rotation

FAQ & Troubleshooting

Why can’t I connect my Realsee app to the Galois device?
Connection issues are commonly caused by low battery, lens or LiDAR covers still attached, or the phone being connected to the wrong network.
  • Fully charge both the Galois device and the mobile phone before capture.
  • Remove the lens cover and LiDAR cover before connecting.
  • Make sure the phone is connected to the Galois device Wi-Fi, not another nearby network or mobile data.

Why can't I navigate to certain points of the 3D virtual tour?
This usually happens when doors, pathways, people, or furniture obstructed the camera and LiDAR view during capture. The incomplete spatial data can create redundant model fragments and block smooth navigation. Use Model Trim in the console to remove redundant fragments, and keep doors and pathways open during future scans. View detailed guide →
How to capture a larger space using Galois?
Plan the scanning route before arrival, reserve enough time, and keep the project under the recommended 500 capture points. In highly repetitive spaces, place temporary visual markers to improve alignment. When time is limited, use Co-Capture to let multiple Galois devices scan separate areas and merge the results afterward. View detailed guide →
Can multiple users capture the same space simultaneously using Galois?
Yes. Realsee Co-Capture lets multiple users scan the same space with separate Galois devices, either at the same time or individually. Each project can be merged in Realsee Console, as long as the projects share an overlapping area on the same floor. Galois merging supports up to 10 projects and up to 1,000 total capture points. View detailed guide →
Why do some points misalign or fail to auto-align in a project?
Auto-alignment can fail when capture points are too far apart, adjacent views are blocked by walls or closed doors, or scenes look too similar. Keep enough visual overlap between adjacent points, maintain clear lines of sight, and add visible markers in repetitive areas such as empty corridors. View detailed guide →
How to place capture points?
For Galois, place capture points every 3-8 meters in normal spaces, then shorten the interval to 2-3 meters in narrow, repetitive, or complex environments. View detailed guide →
How to plan the scanning path?
In a single room or single-area space, follow the natural walking flow a viewer would take. In multi-area spaces, scan each area consistently in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to reduce missed areas and duplicate coverage. View detailed guide →
How do I properly add a second floor during a multi-floor capture?
Finish the first floor by placing the last point on the staircase before switching floors. Use Floor Management in the upper-left corner of the Realsee App, add a new floor up or down, then start the second floor from the first point after the floor switch, usually near the top of the stairs. View detailed guide →
Why can't I walk through doors in the VR tour?
Closed doors, transparent doors, or blocked passages during capture can restrict VR navigation. Use Model Trim to remove redundant fragments in the console and restore walkthrough continuity. To reduce manual cleanup, keep capture paths and doors open while scanning. View detailed guide →
How many capture points can different devices support?
Galois projects are recommended to stay under 500 capture points for optimal processing. In Galois Co-Capture mode, up to 10 projects can be merged, with the merged result staying under 1,000 total capture points. View detailed guide →
