Why Manual CAD

When Automatic CAD Is Not Enough

Manual CAD extends your CAD delivery options when automatic CAD is limited by project size, capture conditions, or drawing scope.

1

Covers Projects Beyond Auto CAD Limits

Automatic CAD has clear boundary conditions. For Galois projects, Auto CAD is limited to 1,000 sqm / approx. 10,764 sqft. For Poincaré projects, Auto CAD may not be available when the capture duration exceeds 15 minutes. Manual CAD can support large-space drafting up to 30,000 sqft / approx. 2,787 sqm.

2

Specialist Drafting with Cross-Review

Manual CAD drawings are prepared by trained specialists and checked through a cross-review process, helping improve drawing accuracy, consistency, and readability.

3

RCP Deliverable Available

Manual CAD supports RCP — Reflected Ceiling Plan — as a separate deliverable. This drawing type is not available through automatic CAD output.

4

Optional Drawing Details

Based on your project needs, you can add visible furniture and casework, visible power/data/control points, opening schedules, and room schedules to the Manual CAD Floorplan deliverable.

Service Scope

Manual CAD Deliverables and File Formats

Manual CAD supports Floorplan and RCP drawing deliverables. Optional drawing details can be added to the Floorplan deliverable based on your documentation needs.

Type 1: Floorplan

.DWG .DXF .CTB .PDF

A manually prepared CAD floorplan based on your Realsee project data. Optional drawing details can be selected for more complete documentation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which projects support Manual CAD?

Manual CAD is currently available only for projects captured with Poincaré and Galois devices.

Are Manual CAD deliverables editable?

Yes. Manual CAD deliverables include editable AutoCAD .DWG files plus .DXF files, so your architect or contractor can work with them directly. .PDF files are also included for quick sharing.

How accurate are Manual CAD deliverables?

Manual CAD geometry is produced to LOD 200. Measured accuracy depends on the capture device: ±10 mm with Galois P4 and ±20 mm with Galois M2, both within the LOA 20 band.

Can Manual CAD deliverables be used for permitting or construction?

Manual CAD deliverables provide an accurate scan-derived as-built base. Because the deliverables are not a field survey, we recommend independent field verification before relying on them for construction, permitting, or as-built records.

How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery is tiered by floor area, from 3–5 business days for smaller spaces up to 7–10 business days for the largest. The estimate is per selected drawing type: selecting both Floorplan and RCP doubles the production time shown in the delivery table.

What formats do I get?

You receive .DWG, .DXF, .CTB, and .PDF files. The .DWG file also includes a point-cloud reference layer for verification. If you add schedules, door, window, and room schedule files are also delivered as .XLSX and .CSV files.

What is included in Visible Furniture & Casework?

Adds visible, scan-captured furniture, major appliances, and fixed casework to the Floorplan as scaled footprints at standard sizes, positioned as found in the scan.

Included

CategoryItems
SeatingSofas, chairs, benches
TablesDining, coffee, side, desks
BedsSingle / double / queen / king by size
Storage furnitureCabinets, wardrobes, shelving units, dressers
Fixed caseworkBuilt-in cabinetry, kitchen units, countertops, vanities, wardrobes
Major appliancesRefrigerator, oven / range, dishwasher, washer / dryer, and other large built-in or freestanding units
Displays & heatingTelevisions / monitors; radiators as furniture footprint

How items are drawn

  • Scaled footprint / outline only, not modeled in detail.
  • Not differentiated by material or finish.
  • Placed and oriented per scan.

Not included

  • Bespoke / custom pieces are shown as footprint outline only, not detailed.
  • Small loose objects on surfaces, signage, and artwork.
  • Visible electrical points, which are covered by Visible Power, Data & Controls.
What is included in Visible Power, Data & Controls?

Adds wall- and floor-mounted visible electrical points to the Floorplan as standard 2D symbols. These show the locations of devices visible in the scan, not conduits, circuits, or engineering design.

Included

GroupItems
PowerSockets / outlets with number of connections noted, floor boxes
Data & commsData / network outlets, telephone outlets, TV outlets
ControlsLight switches, thermostats, control panels for security / AV / access
PanelsDistribution boards, low-voltage / data enclosures
Wall-mounted devicesSmoke / heat detectors, extract fans, doorbell / intercom

How items are drawn

  • Standard 2D symbols, placed per scan.
  • Sockets are annotated with number of connections; wall devices include mounting height where relevant.
  • Modeled only where clearly visible and unobstructed in the scan.

Not included

  • Conduits, wiring runs, circuits, or load calculations.
  • Concealed / behind-wall services.
  • Ceiling-mounted lights, diffusers, detectors, and fans, which are part of the base Reflected Ceiling Plan.
What is included in Door & Window Schedules?

Adds door and window schedules with ID, size, type, and swing information, cross-referenced to the door / window tags on the plan so every opening on the drawing has a matching schedule entry.

Delivered as

Embedded on the Floorplan schedule sheet, plus standalone .PDF, .XLSX, and .CSV files for both the door schedule and window schedule. Schedules cross-reference plan tags such as D01 and W01.

What is included in Room Schedules?

Adds a room schedule listing each room’s name, number, area, perimeter, ceiling height (CH), and floor finish. Room names follow the Realsee standard room vocabulary.

Delivered as

Embedded on the Floorplan schedule sheet, plus standalone .PDF, .XLSX, and .CSV files. The schedule includes per-floor subtotals and a project grand total.

Does this include MEP / electrical engineering?

No. The Visible Power, Data & Controls add-on shows the locations of visible devices, such as sockets, switches, and panels. It does not include conduits, circuits, wiring, engineering design, MEP engineering, or concealed services.

What’s the difference between RCP and the Visible Power, Data & Controls add-on?

RCP covers ceiling-mounted items such as lights, diffusers, ceiling detectors, and extract fans as part of its base scope. The Visible Power, Data & Controls add-on is for the Floorplan deliverable only and covers visible wall- and floor-mounted electrical, data, and control points.

Should I choose Imperial or Metric?

Choose the system your downstream users work in. Imperial defaults to NCS (AIA) layer naming for North America, while Metric defaults to ISO 13567 for Europe and international projects. The choice also sets dimension format and sheet sizes. Learn more

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing is based on the floor-area tier. Each drawing type has a base price per tier; add-ons are priced per tier on top of the Floorplan; and RCP can be bundled with a Floorplan at a discount.

Why are room names provided in English only?

Manual CAD room names currently support English only. Room names are drawn from the Realsee standard room vocabulary to keep deliverables consistent. Where a space’s function cannot be determined from the scan, it is labeled “Room”.

Are elevations or sections available?

Not yet. Elevations and sections are coming soon. The current release covers Floorplan and Reflected Ceiling Plan deliverables.
