Use the Realsee CAD Editor to review and refine an automatically generated floor plan against the original 3D scan. You can adjust walls, add doors and windows, work in elevation view, and add dimensions or annotations before saving the finished drawing.
Before you begin: The editor is intended for correcting and supplementing an auto-generated result. Use the color 3D reference view to confirm the location and size of each element before saving.
1. Open the CAD Editor
- Sign in to the Realsee Console and open My Spaces.
- Find the 3D Tour you want to edit.
- Open More Settings, then select Edit CAD.
2. Get familiar with the workspace
The main workspace contains:
- Drawing canvas: Displays the top-down point-cloud view and editable CAD elements.
- Left toolbar: Add walls, doors, windows, dashed measurement lines, height markers, text, area/perimeter labels, and object legends.
- Top toolbar: Show walls only, undo or redo an action, switch measurement units, change the interface language, and save your work.
- 3D reference window: Shows the corresponding scanned space in color. The selected element is highlighted so you can compare the drawing with the actual environment.
- Floor selector: Switch between floors in a multi-floor project.

3. Use the 3D reference and split view
The 3D reference helps you verify walls, openings, and other details that may be difficult to identify in the top-down point cloud.
To inspect the scan in more detail, open Split View from the reference window. The enlarged reference view and the CAD drawing remain visible together, making it easier to compare the selected element with the scan and make precise adjustments.
4. Draw and adjust walls
Add a wall
- Select Add Wall from the left toolbar.
- Click the starting point on the canvas.
- Move the pointer and click again to set the wall endpoint.
- Enter a value when you need an exact wall length.
- Hold Shift while drawing to keep the wall orthogonal.
- Press Esc to finish or exit drawing mode.
Adjust an existing wall
- Select and drag a wall or its endpoint to align it with the edge of the point cloud. Check the highlighted position in the 3D reference window while making the adjustment.

- A red dot means the wall endpoint is disconnected or has not snapped completely to the adjacent anchor point. Join every red endpoint to the correct wall so each room forms a closed boundary. An open boundary can prevent room area recognition and reduce the accuracy of later CAD output.

5. Add and edit doors
- Select Add Door from the left toolbar.
- Choose Entry for an exterior entrance or Interior for an internal door.
- Click the target wall to place the door.
- Select the door to open its action menu. From here, you can edit the door, open Elevation view, copy it, or delete it.
- Drag the door along the wall to correct its position. Use the reference window to confirm the opening.

6. Add and edit windows
- Select Add Window from the left toolbar.
- Click the target wall to place the window.
- Drag the window along the wall to adjust its position.
- Drag the green control point to resize the window.
- Compare the highlighted window in the 3D reference window with the scan before confirming the result.

7. Edit doors and windows in elevation view
Elevation view lets you adjust an opening vertically and verify its width and height against the scan.
- Select a door or window on the drawing.
- Choose Elevation from the floating action menu.
- In elevation view, use the left mouse button to drag the element or its control points to the correct position and size.
- Check the live 3D reference while editing.
- Return to the plan view when the opening is aligned.

8. Add a dashed measurement line
Use a dashed line to show a reference distance that is not represented by a wall.
- Select Dashed Line from the left toolbar.
- Click to set the start and end points.
- Enter an exact value when needed.
- Drag an existing dashed line to reposition it.
- Press Esc to exit the tool.

9. Add a height marker
- Select Mark Height from the left toolbar.
- Click the required location on the drawing.
- Select the marker to edit, copy, or delete it.
The height value is calculated from the scan data. Use the 3D reference to confirm that the marker is placed in the correct height zone.
10. Add text
- Select Add Text from the left toolbar.
- Click where you want the note to appear.
- Enter the annotation text.
- Select an existing label to edit, copy, or delete it.
11. Mark an area and perimeter
Use area marking to divide the floor plan into regions and display calculated measurements.
- Select Mark Area from the left toolbar.
- Add boundary lines to divide the required region.
- When a closed region is detected, the editor automatically generates its area and perimeter.
- Use the checkbox beside a measurement to control whether the label is included.
If a region is not detected, check the surrounding wall and divider endpoints. Every boundary must be fully connected.

12. Add object legends
- Select Mark Object from the left toolbar.
- Choose an item from the Legend panel, such as a load column, radiator, utility point, door type, or stair.
- Click the drawing to place the symbol.
- Select a placed symbol to open its action menu. Depending on the object, you can switch to elevation view, rotate, copy, or delete it.

13. Change measurement units
Select the unit control in the top toolbar, then choose:
- meter for metric measurements
- inch for imperial measurements
The measurements displayed on the drawing update to the selected system.

14. Change the interface language
Select the language control in the top toolbar, then choose one of the available options:

Before saving, review the drawing against the 3D reference:
- Confirm that wall lines align with the scanned structure.
- Resolve every red wall endpoint and make sure each room boundary is closed.
- Verify the position and dimensions of doors and windows in both plan and elevation views.
- Check height, area, perimeter, text, and object annotations.
- Confirm that the correct measurement unit is selected.
- Use Undo or Redo if a recent change needs correction.
- Select Save in the top-right corner.
Save regularly while editing. After completing the drawing, review it once more before downloading or using the generated CAD deliverable.
